The History of the Name of the PRE Breed from the P.R.E. - Comprehensive Buyer's Guide for the Purebred Spanish Horse - published by the Foundation for the Purebred Spanish Horse (USA) www.prehorse.org When the official studbook for the PRE breed was first organised (1911) and published (1913), the name given to this registry of horses was Caballos de Pura Raza Espanola - Horses of the Pure Spanish Breed. This is, to this day, the only correct name for our breed. The name remains the same throughout the 24 published volumes of this Studbook.
