The next revision visit is planned for April 2012. If you have a PRE horse that is 3 or over, or is about to turn 3 within the 2012 calendar year, please get in touch with our President Melanie James. To be eligible for revision (valoration) the horse has to have been issued with a passport and needs to be a minimum height at the withers of 150cm (females) or 152cm (males). The exact travel dates will be published shortly. |

The next revision for 2011 will be scheduled for April, after a request was made by Australia to bring our original October dates forward in the year. All horses turning 3 during the same year (up until 31. December 2011) are eligible to be presented for breeding valoration. If you have a horse that has its birthday later in the year, please make doubly sure that it will have reached the minimum height, so as to avoid frustration on the day. Remember minimum height is 150cm for females and 152cm for males. If you horse is not mature enough, it might be better to wait until the following year. From what we can gather, all future revision tours will most likely be held in April from now on. |

A single PRE studbook for the entire worldThere is only a single registration which is authorized, internationally to produce the official documentation for PRE horses. This is the one and only guarantee for breed purity and which applies the internationally accepted controls for the breed and a breed selection scheme: - DNA typing of individual horses
- parentage verification of each horse, completed graphic description and microchipping of foals
- evaluation as breeding stock as a 3-year old
- assignment of a reigstration code in the studbook
The passport produced by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture and LG ANCCE is the only documentation that guarantees that the animal is a Purebred Spanish Horse and it fulfills all the requirements for the identification of equines as established by the European Union. Permitted Colours of the PRE Horse:According to the breed description in the PRE studbook, all colours are permitted except piebald and skewbald. Artificial Insemination:This is currently only permitted in the case of qualified breeding stock. Aptitud/approval for breeding:Three classes of breeding stock exist within the PRE horse selection scheme: Basic breeding stock (Aptitud basica)It is necessary to request the evaluation from LG ANCCE. PRE horses undergo this evaluation, during which it is decided if they are suitable for breeding, as of the age of three, and the requirements are: stallion must have a minimum height of 152cm at hte withers - mares a min. of 150cm at the withers.there must be no sign of a fallen or broken crest or a Ewe neck.they must be neither monorchide nor cryptorchidethey must remain tru to the breed type |
